R E A D I N G

1. [900]: Now you will have before you the Association of National Investigators, and the Board of Trustees. You will answer the questions I ask you relative to their undertakings.

2. EC: Yes, we have the Association of National Investigators, Inc., that of the Trustees or Board, that body creating the undertakings of the Association. This we have had before, with the many ramifications of undertakings and the various elements as pertain to same. Much may be said. We will answer the questions.

3. (Q) Pertaining to the present water supply of the hospital -
(A) This as existent is inadequate for the needs. Much has been done that should not have been done. For the better water in this vicinity, as has been given, the lower strata SHOULD be the one used - else connect with the city water. The drilling operation would not require more than half the expenditure of the connections, and would be equal and better than the city water. Drill in a location that would be well for the present connections, but sinking the shaft sufficient to prevent the surface water from mingling with the lower strata - else this would be brought to naught by such conditions. Setting casing, then, only needs the small casing for such - but should be a drill well.

4. (Q) Where would be a good specific location, and how deep should it be dug?
(A) The specific location would be well between the present used well and the pump house. The present pump raises only forty-five feet. This will be sufficient for the reaching of the larger and much better stratum - UNDER the shale, and not ABOVE same. [4/9/29 See 900-434, Par. 9-A, 10-A expansion on above advice.]

5. (Q) Should another member be added to the Hospital Committee?
(A) Well that those already given be active, and when there is the next meeting and the conditions are properly ironed out, that the suggestion for supervisor, superintendent, or the GENERAL management under or over the Committee named, be also brought into service.

6. (Q) Would Shroyer or Butler be the better - that is, which one of the two would be the better to serve in the capacity of statistical correlator of information?
(A) All conditions being considered concerning the individuals and the surroundings, Shroyer would give the better service and the longer lasting of the work done. While, as given, either may be the individual, the individual has the work of self's application - and the sincerity in the one is at present the more lasting.

7. (Q) Turning, then, to the educational phase regarding the lectures to begin the last Sunday in April, [by [900]], should these lectures take the form of an informal study class, or rather should they be a series of more formal lectures - more or less disjointed in nature, - such as the one I have named in this paper, for example? [See 900-426 on 3/6/29 referring to the same letter, apparently, then in his pocket, Par. 4-A.]
(A) In considering this phase of the work to be accomplished by and through the Association, be sure that first and foremost that presented will not too soon pigeon-hole the undertaking into any one line of exploration, or of research. Then, that of the informal study group offers the greater opportunity. This perhaps would appear to be the more reasonable manner to pursue, especially when there is considered there are so many different phases that are to be enlarged upon, rather than one individual phase accepted or studied - and following first those of the suggestions as are given in Hudson's Law of Psychic Phenomena, in Spiritual Experience, are the channels that may be well followed, for this is inclusive of not only the mental sciences as are being studied in the many forms of isms that are being called psychological analysis, new thought, unity, science and the like - but also that as is being seen in the application of that so often abused phenomena of hypnosis, and of those kindred actions of the mental telepathist, the ability of the individual to concentrate to the point of cosmic forces and spiritualistic realities; not spiritualism but spiritualistic realities, in the material forces. Then, correlating these first laws as are set forth in this book, with those principles as are written in the first portion of the letter here, we will find the basis upon which these studies should begin. This laying, then, the foundation of the broader fields of endeavor, as has been set forth in not only those correlating of the spiritual truths as have lived from those days of Un, and Og, and Magog, but also of Ur, of Moses, and of the greater truths in those of the various schools that have assumed proportions of the religious THOUGHT of people. Now do not mix religious thought with religion, nor Christianity, nor brotherly love, nor that of Confucianism, or Brahmanism, or zoism [Taoism], or any ism, but rather that of the awakening of the individual to the truth of the divine heritage in each individual that may respond to that of creative energy in the universal forces of EVERY thought, and that may be applied in the workaday, the material, the spiritual, the social, the EVERYDAY life of each individual, whether as to its association with its OWN household or its neighbor.

8. (Q) Up to about what page of this letter that I have in my hand (if this is the letter referred to) should I consider?
(A) To the seventy-fifth page of spiritual law of psychic phenomena, to the fourth page of this letter.

9. (Q) Seventy-fifth page being in Hudson's book?
(A) Spiritual Law of Psychic Phenomena.

10. (Q) Who publishes that book?
(A) That was published in the first by Appleton, but may be obtained now in any of the stores that make a specialty in these books.

11. (Q) Regarding the rest of this letter that I have written more or less as data for my book, [See Source File Key #900 for booklet "Heaven on Earth" previously contained in 900-340.] is it not the truth that has here been written, or had it better be discarded?
(A) Do not discard it - but this rather advanced for individuals of every walk of life that would be approached in such lectures. Rather as to the STUDENT should the book or letter be given; hence correlating the pages of letter with Spiritual Law of Psychic Phenomena - Define first what IS psychic phenomena, see? and then correlate that with the experiences as are set forth in the letter. These experiences are the beginning of application, for they show just what is attempted to be explained. Remembering as these are given, Hudson - in Spiritual Law of Psychic Phenomena - pigeon-holes self into MENTAL SCIENCE, yet lays the basis for the mind that is attempting to find out what it is all about - to work upon, and how we may apply it to self; and only that truth as an INDIVIDUAL may make self-application OF is worthwhile to the individual! It does not matter to the mind of an individual Sam Newman here in Erie that the energy let loose in the falls of Niagara runs his mill. The mill RUNS, is all Sam sees - yet the truth, in that this is an energy of the creation and is as psychic force in SELF and the understanding of self's relation to same would awaken the different condition entirely in Samuel! So, in this educational portion of the work of the Association, being the greater in scope than even that of the hospital, for reaching ten's where the hospital may reach one in the SPIRITUAL awakening. Not a sectarian awakening; not a dogmatic awakening - but that of the same truths as is set forth in "The meek shall inherit the earth - The pure in heart shall see God". He that is grounded in the truths as set forth here is grounded indeed in the truths that makes the individual one with, in will and purport, the whole creative energy, and will make for that individual the faith that moves mountains and maketh the pastures green where there was consternation and trouble before.

12. (Q) Yet many questions pondered, the answers come to me and I know those answers are right, from the very sensing of the from within -
(A) That a matter of development individual. This is speaking of the matter of teaching, so that the individual may be, know, that same road of obtaining knowledge for self - even as self gains from within that knowledge of the varied conditions given to self from the forces from without answering with the forces from within, making the consciousness in accord with the central primarial truth.

13. (Q) Regarding the plans discussed by [195] and [900] for the establishment of a college at Virginia Beach, are these realizable?
(A) Realizable, plausible, feasible - and not ONLY this. These may, through their fullness of purport, gain for themselves and millions of others such a center, such an institution. The Association of Learning, in the field that would bring the more perfect understanding for self and for others.

14. (Q) Are we not right in formulating plans first to appropriate ten million dollars, to be obtained from the machine,* for the university, and secondly to make the university a university in every sense of the word -
(A) Absolutely correct! and would be maintained through the very phases of the PHENOMENA as would bring, and will bring about, the more perfect understanding OF the universality of force through the very channels that would bring the MATERIAL means for such an undertaking.

15. (Q) When should we just begin to -
(A) At once in mind, for Mind is ever the Builder - and as these are builded in the mental forces of the individual there is added to same the abilities of all the COSMIC forces

as would see such an undertaking realized; which has been the DREAM of all - and had any of the teachers established such, how vast the difference in the world's map!

16. (Q) Now we plan various buildings to take each its own branch - one the psychic phenomena and spiritual kind of philosophy, the other the college for cultural subjects, the other the business building - are the various names for the buildings and the general plan as I dream it one well to work out? for given the material means there's no question as to whether I will put it through, if I get the Lord's help -
(A) Then keep the Lord on thy side, my son, and these may come to pass, even as visioned, dreamed, they may be made material conditions in thine OWN experience.

17. (Q) Would next year - will it prove a good time to found the college?
(A) Read that that was given thee as would come in thine endeavors in that of the second year from 1929, or that would come to thee in 31 and 2, and there will be seen that already there has been set the calling for thee in such an undertaking, and indeed would there be a message for mine people who have long remained in bondage through superstition and through dogmatic relations as have been brought about by those that would teach "as I see" and not as the individual may have awakened in them as to their abilities.
